Introductions

Hello and welcome to my little corner of the interwebz.

Thank you for taking time to check out my newest project - Reign or Shine.  After some time of planning and organizing, I am pretty stoked to share some of my life with each of you.
A quick note about myself.  I am a thirty-something graduate student at a small southern university. My betrothed and I live in a small town that is located just outside of a "big city" (I call that the best of both worlds!).  I work for an amazing non-profit organization where I have the opportunity to spread education through rural areas and produce events of celebration, teamwork and fundraising.

Over the years I have always complained that I do not have hobbies.  In the past, all of my energy has been spent on school or work.  However, recently I have discovered that my hobbies just revolve around being organize, efficient and living a simpler life.

I was diagnosed as gluten intolerant about two years ago.  Since then I have had to learn to revamp everything that I eat AND how it is cooked.  I never really considered myself any sort of domestic goddess ... but I am at least on my way to being a demi-goddess. HAHA!  Cooking and shopping gluten-free can be overwhelming, time consuming and EXPENSIVE!  I pride myself on finding ways to feed us on a modest budget (and with as little "in kitchen" time as possible).

We have two dogs and two cats.  My dogs are my heart.  Anytime I am feeling sick, sad, down or lonely -- those two crazy pups are always right at my side to comfort me and make me laugh at their antics.  Our cats and I have a much more tumultuous relationship.  I had never spent time with cats before moving in with my fiancé, as a result there has been lots of trial and error in the journey of getting the dogs and I used to the cats.  I have gained a lot of experience in animal training and coming up with solutions for odd pet situations. We still have a long way to go - I am no professional, lol, but we manage to get things done.
I mentioned previously that I am really into organization and efficiency.  What I meant to say was that I live and die by my calendar.  I am excited to share some of the tips and tricks I have learned with you on this subject.  Some of my organizational tactics include the use of electronic devices, apps and the occasional printable template for those days you just *need* to see it on paper.  In time I will review a few cool apps that I have tried out and suggest which ones work best for me - and suggest a few options for you to try out.

Thanks again for stopping by!  Stay tuned :)
